The younger brother of 2014 4th-round NFL Draft pick Khari Fortt, Omar was a relative unknown in Connecticut at the time he registered to compete on the 2016 GAIN Sports Bus Tour and with #TEAMGAIN at the NFA 7v7 National Championships at IMG Academy. Thought to be a safety entering the tour and through the completion of the tour, Omar showcased his versatility at the National Championships lining up at CB, “Mike” backer, Nickel, etc. Omar’s talents and physicality were on full display when given the opportunity to line up on or near the line of scrimmage which included a 2-INT performance against Alabama QB and fellow Gain Sports alum Mac Jones. Following the release of his film from the national championships, it was not much longer before his home state UCONN Huskies elected to extend Omar a scholarship offer and with no surprise, Omar earned a spot on the depth chart and is playing significant minutes as a true freshman.
